Indian Cyclist Stops Over in Escondido Real Estate on His Round-The-World-Trip

An Indian cyclist takes his break in his round-the-world-trip by stopping by Escondido Real Estate, Tuesday. He's with his bicycle along with a rolled-up tent strapped to the back of it, and bags for his possessions draped over the wheels.

He planned to stay in Escondido for two days before continuing his journey. His next stop is Mexico for his final stretch of the round-the-world-trip.

Avijit Chakraborty, 39, is on the road since 2009. He is now staying at the Sikh temple near Escondido San Diego real estate, it is one of 12 temples he has stayed in over the past 17 months of his journey. He is now planning to cycle 37,300 miles through 61 countries within a span of 20 months to break the record set in 1974 byJohn Hathaway, who cycled through 52 countries in a span of 23 months.

Chakraborty hopes to raise the awareness to global environmental issues while he tries to attain his personal monumental achievement. According to him, he already stopped in 75 schools during his trek, and gave simple message against pollution for just 5 minutes.

Chakraborty said, "To protect our good world, we will have to stand united," and "Use plastics just for necessity. And where you are standing, that place has to be clean."

The first trip of his trip took him through Vietnam and Korea, as he travel by boat or plane, he sailed oceans and cycled through Australia, China, Japan, Germany, Italy and also Canada. He showed his passport to different airlines just to validate his world record trip.

And as he travel around the world, police officers are giving him arm patches as gifts.

"The Escondido Police Department wishes him the best," Chief Jim Maher, an Escondido police wrote in his letter confirming Chakraborty's visit to the city.

Escondido is looking on and wishing him the best of luck as he completes his cycle around the world.
