The information for this report was gathered by the Realtors association using the reported sales from real estate agents in the Multiple Listing Service run by Sandicor Inc., the biggest regional MLS in the Country. According to the real estate agents, the decrease in sales was due to the less urgency from the buyers and freeze of foreclosure from bigger lenders.

Government tax incentives encouraged many buyers to hurry to purchase homes in the spring and summer. Those who stayed could be willing to wait for the great deal.

Although the decrease in sales occurred in every area of the region, sales of Escondido San Diego homes in four zip codes  were raised to 133 from the same month a year ago, but lowered to 91, off 31%, according to the report.

A few spectators stated that the freeze on foreclosures by major lenders brought sales in Escondido and Southwest Riverside County down by severely bringing down the amount of Escondido San Diego homes for sale.

Cliff Helbock, manager of the Murrieta and Escondido branches of Prudential California's offices, stated that the banks, due to a few difficulties with paperwork, have pulled away all of their listings. For the mean time, all of the primary brokers had to take away hundreds of houses in the market. There's really a deficit of homes on the market and they are receiving multiple offers.

There are still good reasons to buy Escondido San Diego homes. Interest rates are at historical lows and there is lack of urgency from the buyers, giving more power to determined buyers to get a good deal. Despite the negative impact brought by foreclosures freeze, home buyers can still take advantage of what is on the market today.
