From responding rapidly to major traumas to welcoming new additions to your family, this 319-bed acute care hospital is ready with the professional expertise and medical technology you deserve. Palomar provides North County's only designated trauma center along with a 24-hour Emergency Department. Palomar also offers the area's finest, state-of-the-art cardiac care and rehabilitation services, is designated one of the top orthopedic hospitals in the nation and has an oncology program featuring the latest therapeutic weapon against cancer, the Varian 2300 C/D linear accelerator. General medical/surgical and intensive care are also featured.

The family-friendly Birth Center provides new mothers with labor, delivery and recovery care in one comfortable private suite, or in a separate recovery and post-partum bedroom designed to give her privacy to bond with her little one. We also have a six-bed Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nearby to provide the advanced technology needed to give at-risk newborns a fighting chance to grow strong and healthy. The 23-bed pediatric unit was recently remodeled to create a more cheerful, healing environment for our young patients.

Tucked away in beautiful Poway valley, on the northern outskirts of the city of San Diego, lies the Pomerado Hospital campus, owned and operated by the Palomar Pomerado Health System. Pomerado is a 107-bed acute care facility which features the adjacent 129-bed Villa Pomerado Convalescent Care Center. The hospital is licensed by the California Department of Health, and accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

The Behavioral Medicine Center is the only program in San Diego County to address the psychiatric and physical needs of patients. The 107-bed hospital also offers a 24-hour Emergency Department, family friendly Birth Center, a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), cardio-pulmonary services, partial hospitalization program for seniors, a Wound Management Program, and general medical/surgical services.
